Mobile live casino games now rank #1 in revenue at Evolution.
Evolution Gaming has been the world’s leading provider of live dealer casino games since the company’s launch in 2006. For more than a decade, players have shown preference to enjoying the realistic, live dealer atmosphere on their desktop computers. Now, for the first time, mobile live dealer casino games are taking the lead.
In Evolution’s latest earnings report for the second quarter of 2017, the company proudly announced its mobile live casino platform accounting for 52% of overall revenue. Not only that, the firm’s profits nearly doubled in Q2-17 compared to previous earnings in Q2-16, rising from €7.6 million to €14.6 million.
Evolution Mobile Live Casino Games
Evolution has been producing live casino games for mobile throughout most of its 11 years of exclusivity in the live dealer casino business. As mobile technology progressed, piloted by the introduction of the first smartphones in 2007, Evolution made sure to supply this avenue of gaming for its licensees.
However, it’s taken years for the mobile gambling industry to realize its true potential. The slow but steady advancements in mobile technology paved the way. It wasn’t until a few years ago that Apple iOS and Android devices became mainstream items among the world’s population.
As that was occurring, the internet gambling industry was transitioning to accommodate the mass of new mobile users. Between 2014-15, they reached a pinnacle by converting their websites to HTML5. This gives desktop and mobile users the same experience when visiting iGaming websites and playing the vast selection of traditional and live casino games.
Now, after so many years of anticipation, mobile live dealer casino games are finally ranked number-one. They’ve officially overtaken their desktop brethren as the top money earner for the world’s leading live casino supplier.
Stellar Year for Evolution Gaming
The last 12 months have been fantastic for Evolution Gaming. In the last fiscal year, it’s seen phenomenal growth, secured several new contracts, and received yet another prestigious award. This is the 8th consecutive year Evolution was named Live Casino Supplier of the Year at the annual eGR B2B Awards.
Back in April, Evolution teamed up with British Columbia to build a dedicated live casino in Metro Vancouver. Scheduled for completion in late 2017, the new studio will operate exclusively on BCLC’s provincially-run gambling site, PlayNow.
Just last month, the company announced another new live casino operation to be built in Tbilisi, Georgia. That studio is expected to open in 2018. With those new studios in the line-up, Evolution will see its total number of desktop and mobile live dealer casino studios increase from 7 to 9.
The company pointed to “strong an even growth for all products” as the catalyst for its incredible Q2-17 earnings. EBIDTA rose a spectacular 81% to €19.2 million, with earnings per share increasing nearly 50% from €0.21 to €0.41. In the meantime, Evolution transitioned from First North to a main listing on Nasdaq Stockholm, exclusively for large cap companies.
“I am very pleased to be able to sum up an eventful quarter with positive development in several areas,” enthused company CEO Martin Carlesund.
“The favourable momentum of the past quarters continued into this period, with a strong and steady growth for all products. It can be noted that gaming revenues generated on our platform using mobiles devices exceeded 50 percent for the first time in this quarter,” he said.
